"Wathani": idolater, idol worshiper, pagan. "Wathaniyyah": worship of idols and stones. it is derived from "wathan", which means: an idol or stone that is worshiped. "Wathan" is derived from "wathn", which means: steadiness. "Wathn" also means: power, plenty.
"Mīzān": a tool used to weigh things. It is derived from "wazn", which means: to weigh something against something else of its like.

"Nubuwwah": It is derived from "naba’", which means a piece of news, and from "nabwah" or "nubū’", which means: elevation, height.

"Qarīn": companion, attendant. It is derived from "qarn", which means: combining.
"Qasam": swearing, taking an oath. It is derived from "qasāmah", which means: the oaths that are divided and distributed among the blood relatives of the slain person (the practice of clearing a person accused of murder by the oaths of others testifying to his innocence).

"Zandaqah": lack of belief in the Hereafter and the Oneness of the Creator. Original meaning: narrowness. It is said to be a Persian word that entered Arabic language. Other meanings: being irreligious and believing that time is eternal.
"Zindīq" (pl. zanādiqah): someone who does not believe in the Hereafter or the Oneness of the Creator. It also refers to he who has no religion and believes in eternalism. It is also used to refer to the hypocrite.
"Istighāthah": asking for help and rescue. Original meaning: support at the time of hardship.
"Tahrīf": alteration. Original meaning: inclination toward something. It is turning the meaning of a speech from its original meaning to something else.

"Ta‘tīl": emptying, vacating. It is derived from the word "‘atal", which means emptiness, vacancy, and leaving.
"Ta‘wīdhah": anything that one seeks refuge in. It is derived from "‘awdh", which means: protection, preservation, defense. Other meanings: anything that is believed to protect one from evil.
"Takyīf": Describing the manner, form, or condition of something, like its length, width, and size. It is derived from "kayf", which means: manner, form, and essence.
"Tamīmah" (pl. Tamā’im): a string or beads that the Arabs used to hang on their children, claiming that they protect them from the evil eye, as if intending that they are the perfect remedy and the desired cure. It is derived from "tamām", which means: perfection.
"Timthāl" (pl. Tamāthīl): something made to resemble one of the creatures of Allah Almighty that has a soul and a form.

"Tanjīm": astrology, looking at the stars. It indicates rise and appearance.
"Tanzīh": keeping away and being exalted above deficiencies. It is derived from "nazh", which means: remoteness.

"Tanattu‘": going deep into something and exaggerating and bragging about it. It is derived from "nati‘", which is the palate (the top part of the inside of the mouth). Then it came to be used for all types of exaggeration in words and actions.
"Mutawātir": successive. It is derived from "witr", which means: odd-numbered. Opposite: discontinued. Other meanings: succession of things one after the other without a gap between them.
"Tawādu‘": humility, manifestation of submissiveness. Opposite: arrogance, haughtiness. It is derived from "wad‘", which means: putting down and lowering. Other meanings: humbleness, docility, gentleness
"Jahannam": a name of the fire with which Allah punishes people in the Hereafter. It is a foreign word that has no derivatives. Others say it is an Arabic word. The term reflects a state of abyssal depth.
"Hinth": major sin, wrongdoing. Opposite: fulfillment of oath. Other meanings: breaking an oath.
Firm belief that the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, has a Basin (Hawd) of a specific description, which was given to him by Allah, and that his Ummah will come to drink from it.
Firm belief in what has been mentioned in the Qur'an and Sunnah about the existence of the Scale, which has specific characteristics, by which deeds, books, and people will be weighed on the Day of Judgment.
"Khashyah": fear coupled with knowledge and glorification. It mostly results from knowledge of what is feared. It is derived from "khashy", which means: dried plants.
"Sayhah": loud crying and screaming, any sound when it is at the its loudest. Other meanings: punishment.
"‘Urūj": ascending, rising. It is derived from "mi‘rāj", which is the means of ascending, such as an elevator or stile that is used to go from the bottom to the top.

"Ikhlās": purity, filtration, refinement, selection. The term was later used to refer to pure monotheism and avoidance of showing off in performing acts of worship.

"Mi‘rāj": an instrument of ascending, like an elevator or a ladder, which takes one upwards. Original meaning denotes elevation and rising.

"Jibrīl": Gabriel; the name of the angel entrusted with communicating divine revelation to the prophets (peace be upon them). It means: the servant of Allah.
"‘Ujmah": inarticulateness. Original meaning denotes silence and refraining from speaking. It is derived from "a‘jami", which means: an inarticulate person who cannot speak properly or make his speech understood. If an Arab is described to have "‘ujmah", it means that he does not pronounce words properly.
“Fitan” (sing. fitnah): trials, tests, tribulations. It is derived from “fatn”, which means: burning.
"Asnām" (sing. sanam): a statue that is carved from wood, silver, or brass and is worshiped. It also means an image that is worshiped. Original meaning: wicked and foul.
"Tilsam" (or talsam): an undisclosed thing. "Mutalsam": undisclosed, obscure. "Talsamah": reading or writing something obscure. It is an Arabicized Greek term that refers to anything that is obscure and enigmatic, such as riddles and puzzles. it is said to be derived from "talsamah", which means: changing a thing and transforming it from one state to another.
The angels who are entrusted with carrying the Throne of Allah in this world and the Hereafter, by the will and power of Allah, the Almighty.
"Mudāhanah": showing something different from what one conceals.
It is the appearance of a one-eyed liar at the end of times from the children of Adam, whom Allah will give the ability to do wondrous and paranormal acts sa a trial and tribulation for the people.
"Mu‘jizah" (pl. Mu‘jizāt): something supernatural, what makes the contestant unable to compete when challenged. It is derived from "‘ajz", which means: inability.
"Ma‘siyah"or "‘isyān": violating and disobeying the commandments. Opposite: obedience.
"Mūbiqāt" (sing. mūbiqah): sins that lead one to ruin and loss.
"Nidd": counterpart, equal, rival. It refers only to someone at odds with the person he resembles. Original meaning: disunion, alienation.
"Nushrah": an incantation whereby a mad or sick person is treated.
"Jahl": ignorance. Opposite: knowledge. Other meanings: foolishness.

"Hawāriyyūn" (sing. hawāryy): one’s best and truest friends. Original meaning: extreme whiteness, return. This name is given to the supporters of ‘Īsa (peace be upon him) and anyone who exerted himself in supporting a prophet.
