English "Munkar" (denounced) is a type of weak Hadiths. It is an odd narration that counters a narration of a trustworthy narrator, such as the opposition of Maalik to other credible narrators. Opposite to it is the "ma`roof" Hadith, which is narrated by a reliable narrator in opposition to a weak narrator.
